Scope

This Data Privacy Statement is intended to provide users with information on the manner, scope and purpose in which their data is collected and used.

The legal framework for data protection is provided by the General Data Protection Regulation (EU-DSGVO), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

Collection of general information

Each time this website is visited, information is automatically collected by us and/or by the webspace provider. This information, also known as server log files, is of a general nature and does not allow you to be personally identified.

The information collected includes the following: name of the web page, data file, date, date volume, web browser and browser version, operating system, the domain name of your Internet provider, the referrer URL (the website from which you accessed our website) and the IP address.

Without this data it would be technically impossible to deliver and display the website’s content. The collection of this data is absolutely essential in this regard. Furthermore, we use this anonymous information for statistical purposes. It assists us in the optimization of our website and in technical matters. We also reserve the right to subsequently check the log files in case of suspicion of illegal use of our website

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, the information you provide will be used exclusively for this purpose or to inform you of circumstances relevant to this service or registration. We will not give this information to third parties.

Submission of a valid email address is required to receive our newsletter. The IP address used to subscribe the newsletter and the date of your registration will also be stored. This information serves as proof in case of misuse, if a third-party email address is used for newsletter subscription. In order to ensure that an email address is not entered in our mailing list fraudulently by a third party, we work with what is called the “double opt-in” process in compliance with the law. This process records the subscription to the newsletter, the sending of the confirmation email and the receipt of the registration confirmation.

You may at any time revoke your consent to the storage of this information, your email address and its use for receiving the newsletter. We provide a link in each newsletter and on the website for you to carry out revocation. You also have the option of informing us of your wish to cancel, using the contact options mentioned in this document.

Contact form

If you contact us through the online form or via email, we store the information you provide in order to fulfill your request and to ask you any follow-up questions.

Integration of third-party services and content

Our website may include content and services of other providers. These may include maps provided by Google Maps, videos from YouTube, and graphics and images from other websites. The transmission of an IP address is necessary so that these services can function and be displayed in the user’s browser. The providers (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”) therefore have access to the user’s IP address.

Although we make every effort to use only third-party providers who only need the IP address to deliver content, we have no control over whether the IP address is stored by them. This process serves for statistical and other purposes. If we are made aware that the IP address is being stored, we inform the user of this.

Exclusion of liability

Liability for content

The author assumes no responsibility for the topicality, correctness, completeness or quality of the information provided. Liability claims against the author relating to material or non-material damage caused by the use or non-use of the information provided, or by the use of incorrect or incomplete information, are generally excluded, provided that no demonstrably intentional or grossly negligent fault on the part of the author exists. All offers are non-binding and subject to confirmation. The author expressly reserves the right to change, supplement or delete parts of the website or the entire website without separate announcement or to cease publication temporarily or permanently.

Liability for links

Our web pages contain links to third-party websites, over which we have no control with regard to their content. We therefore assume no responsibility for third-party content. The provider or administrator of each third-party website is responsible for its content. The linked pages were checked for possible legal infringements at the time the link was established. At that time, no unlawful content was detected. Permanent control of content found on linked pages cannot be carried out, however, without specific indications of a breach of law. If any violations become known, the corresponding links will be removed immediately.

The contents and works on these pages created or used by the site operators are subject to German copyright law. Duplication, editing, distribution, or any kind of use outside the limits of copyright law shall require the consent of the respective author or creator. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, text files which are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information on your use of this website obtained through the cookies is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Within member states of the European Union or other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, your IP address will however be truncated beforehand by Google through the activation of IP anonymization on these web pages. Only in exceptional cases will the complete IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyze your use of the website, compile reports on website activities and provide the website operator with further services associated with website use and Internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser through Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. Google AdWords

This website uses Google Adwords Conversion Tracking. When you click on a Google ad on our website, Google Adwords places a cookie on your computer. These cookies automatically expire after 30 days and do not serve to identify users personally. If the user visits certain pages of our website before the cookie has expired, we and Google will see that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to that page. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies therefore cannot be traced back to the websites of AdWords customers.

The information obtained with the help of the conversion cookies serves to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who use Conversion Tracking. Customers see the total number of users who clicked on their ads and who were redirected to a page enhanced with a conversion tracking tag. They receive no information, however, which could be used to personally identify users.

If you do not wish to take part in Conversion Tracking, you can easily deactivate the Google Conversion Tracking cookie through your web browser settings. You will then be excluded from Conversion Tracking statistics. You can learn more about Google’s data privacy provisions at https://policies.google.com/privacy

Our website uses Facebook plugins (address: 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA). These plug-ins appear as “Like” buttons or the Facebook logo – you’ll find an overview here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

If you visit a page on our website with a Facebook plugin, a direct connection is established with Facebook. We have no control on the type and scope of data collected, stored and processed by Facebook. We can only inform you according to our level of knowledge.

When you visit a web page that is enhanced with the Google+ button, a connection to the Google servers is established. Google transmits the content of the button and embeds this on the corresponding web page. At the same time, Google receives information on which page has just been visited. Google maintains that personal data is only collected when the Google+ button is clicked. For those logged into a Google+ account, the following applies: Google stores and processes the IP address even without interaction. We have no control over the scope of data stored in this context.

Google+ users who are logged into their account can recommend our web pages by clicking on the “+1” button. In this case, Google stores not only the IP address and browser, but also the content for which the “+1” was given and the page. This information is stored in the user’s profile and can be displayed, along with the user’s profile name and profile image, in Google services, including search results. Google uses the data to optimize its own services, among other things. You’ll find information on Google’s privacy policy and privacy settings options here: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
